The complete sale of a company’s shares to another company is a common way for a Private Equity firm to exit their investment. The term Trade Sale is mostly used in the context of Venture Capital and refers to the sale of a company in its early stages. In this case, the involved parties are commonly the founders/managers of the business and their supporting Business Angel or Venture Capital investors as sellers, and a corporate investor as buyer.
