Enterprise Investors Gains 27% Share in Poland's Screen Network

Enterprise Investors has announced a deal to acquire a 27% share of Polish digital advertising firm Screen Network. The investment will be made through the Enterprise Venture Fund I, and is worth €2 million. The new funding will enable Screen Network to ramp up expansion plans which include outdoor signage and advertising, and what's known in the industry as Digital Out-Of-Home Media (DOOHM). The Screen Network deal marks the ninth investment for the Enterprise Venture Fund I thus far.

Cinema City acquires Palace Cinemas chain in CEE

Cinema City International acquired 100% of the equity of four companies from the Palace Cinemas’ chain in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The operations of the sold entities add up to 15 multiplexes with 141 screens. The acquisition makes Cinema City the third largest cinema operator in Europe with 90 multiplexes, 866 screens and extends its geographical coverage to seven courtiers with the inclusion of Slovakia.

KKR and TPG look to acquire broadcasting operations from Turkey's Dogan media group

The broadcasting assets of Dogan Yayin, Turkish media conglomerate, are attracting the interest of KKR and TPG. The two of the biggest US private equity businesses, together with Time Warner remained after the second round of bidding. Apax Partners and RTL dropped out of the auction earlier, as they considered the deal price too high. Bids target the television channels Kanal D and Star TV and are expected to exceed USE 1.5billion.

BaltCap Gains Majority Share of Oobelisk Start-Up

BaltCap has announced a deal that gives the PE and VC investor a majority stake in Oobelisk, a corporate media startup in the Baltic region. The deal was completed within the framework of the EU's JEREMIE initiative, which provides EU member states with financing for equity investments and loans targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises.
