Demeter Partners has got involved in the action carried out by the Foundation Énergies pour le Monde through a sponsorship of its project in Senegal. Founded in 1990, the Foundation Énergies pour le Monde’s mission is to promote the access to electricity in rural areas of developing countries, using renewable energies: solar photovoltaic, wind, biomass and micro hydro. It is currently involved in projects in West Africa (Senegal, Burkina Faso), in Madagascar and Southeast Asia.

The foundation participates in this way to the economic development and the improvement of the population’s living conditions. In order to carry out its mission, the Foundation has been provided with means of action to:

• Conduct identification, feasibility and energy programming studies through Noria, a powerful expert system developed by the Foundation
• Gather financial and technical partners around each project
• Participate in the Financing and implement projects on the spot with a view to perennial
• Train and help local operators
• Organize media, information and awareness campaigns
• Collect and communicate the experiences’ results to a wide audience through its publications

About Énergies pour le Monde
Created at the initiative of Alain Liébard, its President and Founder, the Foundation Énergies pour le Monde is a nongovernmental organization (ONG) that was recognised “public utility” in March 1990. Since its inception, it is supported by public and private partners.
