Mid Europa Agrees to Sell Aster to U.S. Investment Firm
Mid Europa Partners has announced plans to sell one of its Polish holdings to an American investment firm. On the block is cable television operator Aster Sp. z o.o., which will be acquired by Liberty Global Inc. for a total of PLN 2.4 billion. Liberty will provide PLN 870 million in private equity and assume mid Europa's PLN 1.5 3 billion Aster-related debt. Liberty Global already owns Aster's biggest competitor, UPC Polska Sp. z o.o., so the deal must be approved by Polish regulators.
